I've been playing LOTRO for quite some time on my Windows 7 box with no issues.

A bit over a month ago, while trying to load the game, the following error dialog popped up:

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Frame work\v1.1.4322\alink.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an erro. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.

After that, another longer error message specific to LOTRO called LauncherError pops up, but as a free player, I get no technical support for that.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling LOTRO. I've tried uninstalling all versions of .NET and re-installing one at a time to see if the game will work, and it does now.

My laptop running Windows 7 and same version of .NET I had on my PC when it failed continues to run the game just fine.

Any ideas (short of a full system wipe and OS reinstall) on how to resolve this error? It would be greatly appreciated!!
