This instance has so much potential but it is wasted because of the fact that it is so long and it offers no good rewards.
It is really the only instance between GA and Moria where players will actually learn how their class copes and its role in a group situation (CD/Uru runs are rare these days and are usually just for deeds). Instead of leaving Fornost as a waste of space, I think Turbine should do something with it which makes players want to do it and makes it less time consuming than it is at the moment.
So these are my list of ideas which might help improve Fornost...
An Instance Cluster -
Fornost should be split into 3 instances similar to Garth Agarwen, 2 3-mans and a 6-man. The instances could be scalable from 35-45.
Fornost: City - A 3-Man which requires you to fight your way through the city, dealing with the Angmarim Infestation. There could be 3 bosses, an Orc Overseer who is in control of establishing camps and fortifications through the city, a vengeful Oathbreaker which haunts a section of the city and even scares the Orcs away, and a Troll Gatekeeper who stands at the doors of the Citadel and only defeating him will give you access.
Fornost: Mines - A 3-Man which requires you to investigate why the Angmarim are delving into the Downs around Fornost. There would also be 3 bosses, an Angmarim Officer who is in charge of the mine workers, a powerful Uruk-Hai Slave who is the enemy of your enemy but is also your enemy at the same time, an Angmarim Sorceror who has found the tomb of a great Champion of Morgoth in the First Age and was King of the region and wishes to resurrect him as a Wight.
Fornost: Citadel - A 6-Man which requires you to fight your way through the Citadel of Fornost and defeat the leaders of this Orc Army. There would be 3 boss fights, one where you come across a Chamber with the Generals of the Krahjarn, Tarkrip and Ongburz Orcs. One of those suits of armour things which are undead and a Black Numenorian Commander who is the Leader of the Army in Amarthiel's absence.
An Armour Set -
3 Armour Sets with the stats altered for level, one at 35, one at 40 and one at 45. The Armour Sets would be relatively easy to acquires, perhaps acquirable through a "Fornost Token. Each piece would require Five "Fornost Tokens" and you there is a 50% one will drop from the First and Second Boss Fights of each Instance and the 3rd is a 100% drop. Also, for finishing the Instance Hard Mode/Challenge you will receive an extra token so it is easy enough to acquire a piece in two instances. The instances would be dailys and would reset every 24 hours and they would not be that difficult. Boss fights and trash pulls would be altered to fit the class' limits at that certain level. I've suggested 3 armour sets as players level quickly.
I've even thought of names for the Armour Sets.
Burglar - Stalker of the Fallen City
Captain - Herald of the Fallen City
Champion - Blade of the Fallen City
Guardian - Shield of the Fallen City
Hunter - Marksmen of the Fallen City
Loremaster - Preserver of the Fallen City
Minstrel - Bard of the Fallen City
Runekeeper - Scribe of the Fallen City
Warden - Defender of the Fallen City
I hoped you enjoyed my suggestion for Fornost. I highly doubt it'll ever happen but I did it for fun anyways. And I enjoy making up names for things
