Hasbro and UK game developer/ publisher Jagex Ltd. announced a development agreement today to produce an MMO based on the Transformers franchise. Sleep easy, internet, you will now be able to be the robot that you always wanted to be.
So far, here’s what we know: The game will be developed by the makers of popular free-to-play browser game, RuneScape. It will be released, at least tentatively, in 2012. It will have robots that we surmise can transform into stuff. Yes, that’s it. We suppose that it’s logical to expect guns and kicking, because everything is better with guns and kicking.

Even though we pretty much have nothing to go on, though, it sure is nice to know that something like this will exist in the west. Asia has had a Transformers MMO specifically for its markets by a company called NetDragon since last year. Apparently, Hasbro thought that this was as bulljive as everyone else. Thanks, Hasbro!
