Is it or is Melee dps next to worthless against the spider boss in Northcotton farms? if you are in front of the spider you get rooted, a lot, if you are behind the spider you often can't be close enough to hit because you have to run around the poison clouds all the time.

I have seen that fight down with tank, healer and ranged dps no problem at all, but whenever I try to dps I end up spending so much time rooted and eventually rooted in the poison, that I barely do any damage. The only time I do do damage is when I tank because I don't get rooted much and the spider follows me out of the gas.
