Xbox 360 users have been able to download the HD remake of Beyond Good & Evil since March 2, but PS3 owners will be able to join them soon as Ubisoft has just confirmed Beyond Good & Evil HD will be hitting the PlayStation Network in May.
Beyond Good & Evil wasn't a huge mega success for Ubisoft when it came out for PS2, Gamecube, and Xbox, but it did earn high praise and received numerous award nominations. This is an opportunity to not only let fans of the original play it again in high-def quality but also to let those who missed it the first time around to give it a shot.
The game is set hundreds of years in the future and it's up to protagonists Jade and Pey'j to expose and bring down an intergalactic crime ring. It's a third-person action-adventure game with a lot of colorful and imaginative imagery, peppered with puzzles and strategic mini-games.
In addition to a complete overhaul of the game's visuals, it also has online leaderboards and a full slate of achievements/trophies. There is also an updated soundtrack.
And since PS3 owners have to wait a bit longer than their Xbox 360 owning counterparts, Ubisoft is giving away a free PSN Avatar to anyone who downloads the game in the first two weeks after it goes on sale.
