Since the rumors began earlier this year that Warner Bros. was looking to capitalize on the success of Arkham Asylum with a downloadable Batman spinoff, hints keep dropping as to what that game might be. After waiting 20-odd years for proof that the notions of “Batman” and “good game” needn't be mutually exclusive, the company's been registering domain names all over the show, a few of which strongly hint at a new interactive property besides the upcoming Arkham City.
The latest domains registered, GothamRogues.com and
GothamCityImposters.com, could always refer to a recent storyline from the comics. However, bearing in mind that a game of the latter title was listed with European retailers as long ago as last year, it seems far more likely that the title could be a new Batman game – particularly when you factor in other recent domain registrations, such as BatmanImposters.com and BatmanHushgame.com. “Impostors” and “Hush” are two big comics storylines from the last decade; according to XBLAFans.com, “trusted industry sources” have been dropping hints of an XBLA Batman title of late, which ties into these new registrations nicely.
What Batman stories or enemies would you like to see in a game? Would you download a title unrelated to the Arkham series? Let us know.
