Dead or Alive Dimensions won’t release in Sweden due to child pornography laws (Dead or Alive Dimensions)

Swedish Dead or Alive fans looking forward to seeing Kasumi and the gang in the third dimension may be out of luck. Dead or Alive: Dimensions for the Nintendo 3DS will not be releasing in Sweden, Norway, or Denmark. The decision to not distribute the upcoming handheld fighter comes from Nintendo Europe and distributor Bergsala.

Speaking to Eurogamer, Nintendo Europe and Bergsala cited “various reasons” for the cancellation, but did not go into any specifics. It’s likely that the decision to cancel the release of the extra bouncy 3D title has to do with Sweden’s strict pornography laws, which prohibits the depiction of anyone under the age of 18 - even if they aren’t real - in a pornographic situation.

The minors in question: Kasumi, Koroke, and Ayane, world class fighters who are under the age of 18. The pornographic situation: a feature called, Figure Mode, which lets players snap photos of the not-quite-legal bounciness from all angles.
