Artemis 1.5 Spaceship Battle Simulator lets you live your Star Trek fantasy (PC)

Captain, we've located the best thing anyone can do with $40. Version 1.50 of The Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator was released last Tuesday. The big update provides a mission scripting system so you can create your own adventures, a ship creator, new space monsters to battle, black holes, and ships with teleporters and cloaking devices.

If you aren't familiar with this particular brand of simulator, the concept is that you and up to five friends gather in the same room (or bridge) and network your PCs for the ultimate simulated starship experience. You'll only need one copy of the game to install it on up to six computers, which from now on will be referred to as stations.

The five stations are helm, weapons, science, engineering, and communications. The Captain, of course, isn't assigned a console and it's his or her job to coordinate the efforts of the other officers.

While making your own uniforms isn’t required, we wouldn't suggest you play without them. After all how many time have you seen Picard on the bridge without his Starfleet officer uniform on? Think about it, it would be ridiculous.

If you'd like to seek out new life and new civilization, but $40 is too much to ask, you can get a free copy of the game (and impress the internet) by making a video. If you already have a copy, you should be making videos and uploading them anyway.

And don't forget to put your shields up!
